Te Hauora o Ngāti Hauā Trust, established in December 1999, is a Kaupapa Māori organisation that serves the Ngati Haua community (Matamata-Piako region). They provide and work alongside health and social services. They offer a range of services and education to ‘promote a better quality of life, which values our identity and ensures the health and wellbeing within our community and people of Ngāti Hauā.’

Their services:

Strengthening Families: This aims to improve outcomes for children and young people by providing their families/whānau with coordinated, multi-agency support.

Family-centred: To provide direct support to whānau or individuals experiencing or affected by family or domestic violence. The primary aim of our service is to restore safety, foster well-being and promote positive change(s) to eliminate and prevent violence from reoccurring.

Whānau Ora Navigator:  We work closely with whānau to identify their specific needs and aspirations, helping to identify the services or support they require. This service aims to enable whānau to grow and thrive by removing any barriers and building plans to take better control of their lives and circumstances.

Mobile Nursing & Healthy Lifestyle: Staffed by a Registered Clinical Nurse and Healthy Lifestyles Coordinator.

Kia ora, Kia Rite, Kia Tо̄nui: This programme supports beneficiaries to find mahi through, connecting tauira with work recruitment agencies, practical support to study for a driver’s license at any level, completing current CV and interview help, disability and hauātanga, history, money matters, mental health and hauora advice.

Whānau Support: Aims to provide whanau with information, resources and support to meet your needs and aspirations.

Partnership with Houston Technology

Houston works alongside Te Hauora o Ngāti Hauā Trust to manage their IT. We have been in partnership with the organisation for over 10 years. Recently we have built a SharePoint and One Drive for their documentation storing which was previously stored on-premises. Sharepoint is built to fit their organisation completely tailored to them this helps them streamline their business processes as there is better information sharing transparency and collaboration.

Houston has also managed their devices, apps and identities with Microsoft Intune. This is a cloud-based endpoint management solution that allows Te Hauora o Ngāti Hauā Trust to support hybrid and remote working environments. We use Intune to protect data, manage end-user access and support users wherever they work on any kind of device.

Houston’s benefit to Te Hauora o Ngāti Hauā Trust:

Josie and Lance Rapana have had a long-standing relationship with Houston for over ten years. The founders have stated that they value this relationship through the products and support that Houston provides not just the rates. The partnership alongside them is the most important and we share the same values and vision for serving the community.

Malia Te Wiata stated that when working with Houston ‘anything we want we can get it, if we have issues with our IT we will be informed of how it was fixed before we even knew about the problem.’

No issues have come up apart from user behaviour on their side. Malia mentioned that Houston went above and beyond by arranging SharePoint training and following up to ensure the sessions were completed

The team values the insightful events hosted by Houston, including Microsoft 365 Training, and has appreciated the ongoing support through regular feature reviews and recommendations to help refine their setup to suit organisational needs.

Looking ahead, the organisation expects to continue working with Houston and further strengthen the partnership as it strives to adapt to the changing needs of the community
